Senior Research Associate – Research Sample Management – Discovery Sciences & Technologies

Position Summary

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Associate to join the Sample Management team within the Discovery Sciences & Technologies (DST) department.
  • This role is critical to enabling rapid and reliable access to molecules that accelerate Client’s drug discovery efforts.
  • The successful candidate will play a role in managing small molecule and biologics inventories and optimizing workflows.
  • This position is based at our state-of-the-art Research facility in Foster City, CA.

 

Essential Functions

  • Lead and execute sample management workflows including sample check-in, storage, retrieval, aliquoting, plate normalization, and shipping.
  • Oversee biologics inventory including antibodies, proteins, bio-conjugates, libraries, plasmids, and cells.
  • Operate and troubleshoot automation systems, liquid handlers, and analytical instrumentation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D teams, CROs, and external partners to support hit-to-lead and profiling efforts.
  • Maintain high standards of data integrity and documentation using electronic lab notebooks and LIMS.
  • Contribute to process improvements and protocol development to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

 

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

  • BS or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related discipline.
  • 4+ years of relevant industry experience in sample management, sterile technique and compound logistics.
  • Advanced proficiency with liquid handling systems (Echo, Bravo, Biomek, i7, etc.) and inventory management tools.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Experience with automation troubleshooting and workflow optimization is highly desirable.
