Description
Fully remote role with flexible start times between 7 am to 8 am (8-hour shifts).
Must be on EST or CST timezones, and should be prepared for potential overtime as needed.
Duties:
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to join our team.
- In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, managing tax compliance, and supporting internal and external payroll audits.
- You’ll collaborate closely with the Senior Payroll Tax Analyst and play a key part in maintaining efficient payroll operations across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payrolls on a regular schedule and generate accurate payroll reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of employee timesheets.
- Respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries and resolve any related issues.
- Support payroll audits and ensure compliance with federal and state tax deposit requirements.
- Communicate relevant changes in tax legislation and internal procedures when applicable.
- Assist in reconciling payroll reports.
- Research and prioritize payroll tax notices in coordination with the Payroll Tax Analyst.
- Manage incoming payroll-related correspondence and take appropriate follow-up actions.
- Monitor and maintain state and local tax account information across all business entities.
Requirements:
- Previous payroll experience is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and Workday.
- Familiarity with U.S., Canadian, and Puerto Rican payroll tax regulations is highly preferred.
- Associate degree (minimum 2-year degree) required.
- Strong understanding of federal and multi-state payroll tax requirements.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Senior Payroll Tax Analyst (approx. 90% of the time).
