Description
Location: Hybrid - 3 days a week in one of the following office locations Bethlehem, PA, Stamford, CT, Holmdel, NJ, or New York, NY Will be preferred however will be considered Full Remote for the Right Candidate.

Summary
- This is a potential contract to hire role.
- The main responsibilities of a Mainframe zOS DB2 Systems Programmer is to ensure subsystem reliability, availability, and serviceability; to provide technical expertise and guidance for both infrastructure and application design, supporting, installing/upgrades and diagnosing all DB2 and DB2-related OEM products, and performance tuning.

- He/she will be coordinating projects with technical teams in a high paced service-oriented environment and provide on-call support as required.
- He/she should be capable of handling high risk and high visibility situations with ease.
- Strong overall diagnostic and problem-solving skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Monitor DB2 system storage, memory, I/O and CPU resources, design performance improvements.
- Evaluate and recommend innovative technological solutions to meet new/existing business requirements.
- Perform daily checklists, review daily Db2 reports for anomalies, open service now tickets to application groups for problem resolution.
- Provide timely resolution to DB2 software related problems.
- Evaluate all components within DB2 for stability or errors.

- BMC Catalog Mgr(ACT), Change Mgr(ACM), Log Master(ALP), MainView for DB2, Query Manager
- Compuware File-Aid for DB2, IMS; RDX, DS
- IBM InfoSphere Replication Server (Data Propagator)
- DB2 Query Monitor (formerly Rocket – CQM)DB2 for LUW
Hours:
- 8 am - 5 pm EST, with some weekend activities to support the software maintenance
