Forklift Operator I

Description

Qualifications:

• Would need to be comfortable operating a packaging line.
• Simple operations which consist of pushing a button and allowing a tote / drum to fill.

Assigned responsibilities would be limited to:

• Material handling - moving material to/from a warehouse
• Labeling drums
• Labeling totes
• Packaging drums and totes
• Keeping the area clean/organized
• Up to 2 people can be working on the filler at a time - one operating the filler; one on a forklift.

Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• May unload goods from vehicles such as trucks.
• Moving goods packed on pallets around the storage facility,
• Stacking goods in storage locations, following inventory control instructions,
• Checking loads are secure, Stacking empty pallets,
• Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the trucks battery and lubricating equipment,
• Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards.

Qualification requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent, Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required,
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment, Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records,
• Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner,
• Maintain a clean & safe environment.
• Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operators license may be required, Forklift certification per OSHA standards

Based on possible not completely confirmed misunderstandings in the past, and my limited direction on expectations for the last hire, it needs to be clear that the scope will be limited to:

• Labeling
• Packaging
• Filling
• Material Handling
• Cleaning
