Description
Schedule: Monday - Friday / day shift
Experience making buffers and performing basic analyses (such as pH, UV/Vis, etc) preferred. Experience with HPLC/UPLC, Waters Empower, icIEF, or CE a very strong plus.
Role Summary:
The primary goals for the Associate Scientist are associated with supporting formulation and drug product development for a Client molecule preparing for commercialization.
Role Responsibilities:
- Prepare buffers to be used in formulation development work and to support analytical testing of antibody-drug conjugate molecules. Support analytical testing team by performing compendial assays including appearance assessments, pH, osmolality, and protein concentration with training supplied.
- With experience, the candidate may be trained to perform more complex experiments using HPLC/UPLC, icIEF, capillary electrophoresis, etc.
- Additionally, the candidate will support the drug product team in developing freeze-drying processes (lyophilization) and analyze freeze-dried drug products.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a scientific discipline.
- Laboratory practices such as use of analytical scale, pH meter and pipettors
- Aseptic technique involving the use of a biosafety cabinet.
- Algebra skills for volume and weight conversions.
- Data extrapolation and reporting.
- Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Problem solving
- Working independently and multitasking.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline
- One year or more of experience in a similar role with Biopharma.
- Experience working in a regulated lab environment such as Good Laboratory Practices
- Physical/Mental Requirements:
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Climb stairs, kneel or crouch to retrieve items.
- Perform detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks, with frequent interruptions and under time constraints.
