Description
M-F 8-4/9-5 are core hours but if needed a little earlier the manager has some flexibility. Fully onsite. Possibility to extend after one year.
Must Have:
- Mammalian cell culture and sterile technique and experience maintaining cell lines.
Degree:
- Bachelor’s Degree (with +4 yrs experience) / Master's Degree (with +2 yrs experience) / PhD (0-2yrs experience) in Biology, Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology or equivalent (preferably in Cellular Biology research).
Day in the life:
- Actively participating in pipeline project.
- Entail ordering dna, receiving dna, enter data, perform selections for pre candidate, attend meetings associated with their project to present data to a larger audience, perform cloning and clone expansion, develop pre mast cell banks for gmp facility, provide documentation on all work, present at internal meetings, will act as project lead and operator in lab, and also act as a representative of the team to the other departments they work with. Also possibility for tech development in plasmid design new host develop and studies needed to support those new technologies.
Job Description – Contractor
- We are seeking a highly motivated candidate for an open position within the Cell Line Development (CLD) team creating recombinant CHO cell lines to support research and preclinical development programs within Client.
- The person in this role will work in a high-performing, fast-paced collaborative environment supporting end-to-end development of recombinant CHO cell lines and platform optimization for our future CHO expression platforms.
- Work will directly support the advancement of projects in Client’s biologics pipeline.
- Key responsibilities will include sterile cell culture techniques with suspension cultures, pool and clone generation, data assessment and communication, among other things.
Position Overview/Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in generation of engineered mammalian cell lines (transfection pools, clones) expressing candidate biotherapeutics.
- Assist in several studies simultaneously to optimize cell line generation processes.
- Perform mammalian cell culture techniques: sterile technique, cell counting, passaging, cryopreservation, etc.
- Perform basic molecular biology techniques: DNA plasmid preparation, PCR, restriction enzyme digestion, etc.
- Flexibility, adjusting to a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment and willingness to expand and broaden one’s skillset
- Prepare reports, presentations, and data sets to effectively communicate results, progress and plans, presentation at lab meetings
- Contribute to lab organization, reagent tracking and other tasks as determined appropriate
- Compliance with all applicable regulations, ensure that work performed is conducted in a safe and compliant manner, maintenance of proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (with +4 yrs experience) / Master's Degree (with +2 yrs experience) / PhD (0-2yrs experience) in Biology, Cellular Biology, Molecular Biology or equivalent (preferably in Cellular Biology research).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in suspension culture of CHO cell lines in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting
- Knowledge of techniques such as cell culture and molecular manipulations
- Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and superb organizational skills
- Proven ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and communicate transversally
- Experience with data management, consolidation, and presentation
