Scientist/Senior Scientist – Small Molecule Drug Discovery Hematology R&D, Waltham, MA

Join client’s Oncology Bioscience team in Waltham, MA, and be part of an exciting effort to discover breakthrough therapies in hematology oncology.

  • As a Scientist or Senior Scientist, you’ll drive impactful research by identifying and validating novel targets, designing advanced cell-based assays, and uncovering drug mechanisms that could transform patient outcomes.
  • This is a unique opportunity to innovate at the forefront of oncology drug discovery and accelerate promising therapies from the lab to the clinic, in a highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute in vitro studies supporting the characterization and development of oncology drug candidates
  • Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot cell-based assays (e.g., proliferation, survival, cell cycle, apoptosis) in multiple formats
  • Support target identification and validation efforts in haematology oncology
  • Conduct CRISPR screens and validate genetic hits to advance target discovery
  • Profile compounds and investigate mechanisms of action using state-of-the-art cellular and molecular techniques
  • Collaborate across disciplines, analyze data, and present results to project teams

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in cancer biology, cell biology, or a related field with 2+ years’ relevant experience; or Bachelor’s/Master’s with 5+ years’ experience
  • Hands-on experience with cell culture, CRISPR, western blotting, flow cytometry, qPCR, and phenotypic assays
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, team orientation, and a proactive, problem-solving approach
  • Industry experience and familiarity with drug discovery platforms are a plus
