Job Description
The National Advocacy & Policy Oncology Contractor will report into the US Advocacy & State Affairs(USASA) National Policy & Advocacy Director Oncology/NPBD.
- The position will provide expansive support for the execution of the US New Product Business Development(NPBD) advocacy strategy as well as coordinating and fulfilling the benefit attributions for related Oncology memberships & sponsorships with Professional and Patient Advocacy Organizations within the NPBD areas of interest (i.e HNC, INTO, CRC, AML, etc.).
- An extensive knowledge of client HCC policies and relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring timely processing, is necessary.
- This position will also include cross-functional engagement across client Oncology to ensure a collaborative approach to support strategic business needs as it relates to Professional Society and National Patient Advocacy partnerships and engagements.
Responsibilities:
- Advocacy Strategy Execution: Support the execution of the overall advocacy strategy between our National Advocacy Partner network and internal client Innovative Medicine functions (NPBD Brand & Medical Affairs, R&D, SCG, Communications, Senior Leadership, etc).
- Advocacy Coordination: Lead NPBD advocacy strategy meetings with external advocacy groups to share latest brand updates/priorities, discuss current contract deliverables/benefits, and review the advocacy group’s current & future initiatives.
- Lead patient advocacy event pre-meetings and support advocacy congress planning to align on patient & professional advocacy engagement strategy and conduct post-event meetings to capture learnings/patient insights.
- Cross-Functional Engagement: Engage stakeholders across various functions to identify advocacy needs.
- Collaboration with all internal stakeholders that support the execution of the NPBD advocacy strategy
- Ensure timely communication of benefit attributions to internal and external partners.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance and adherence to processes and policies. Implement mechanisms for continuous improvement.
- Contracting: Managing contracting process for aligned membership & sponsorships including submission. Identify solutions for compliance issues related to contract requests.
- Ensure timely communication of benefit attributions to internal and external partners.
- Documentation and Tracking: Create and maintain SharePoint, Excel & Advocacy Information Manager tracking systems for documentation.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required with 2 years related experience OR a minimum of 5 years of related experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree is required.
- Oncology business experience for 5+ years is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with company systems and other compliance tools is also preferred.
- Analytical skills and attention to detail are required.
- Strong influencing skills, good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to partner with associates at all levels of the organization are required.
- Must be proficient in power point, excel, and project management.
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and make decisions in an ambiguous environment is required.
