Description

Position Title: Chemist I

Location/Site: Lake County - 100% onsite

What are the top 3-5 skills, experience or education required for this position:

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with HPLC analysis, including basic troubleshooting skills
  • Some experience and understanding of organic chemistry with respect formation of impurities in small molecule pharmaceuticals
  • Strong attention to detail in documenting scientific experiments and results
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or closely related scientific field

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sample analysis using a variety of analytical techniques as needed, for example, HPLC-DAD/UV, GC, KF, UV, IR, IC, LC-MS, and GC-MS, by completely follow established experimental protocols and assess results with minimal supervision after initial training
  • Document experimental activities and results in a GMP compliant fashion using an electronic data acquisition and management systems.
  • Recognize and report experimental variances
  • Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and optimize laboratory operations for efficient use of time and laboratory supplies/reagents when appropriate
  • Consult literature to understand the scientific purpose of assignments.
  • Conduct test method development and validations under supervision
  • Apply basic scientific principles to research
  • Learn and effectively implement new experimental protocols and/or techniques
