Description
This role will be primarily onsite with 1-2 days per week being potential remote work days.
Candidate must be open to occasional travel to either Chicago or Long Island later in the year.
This role is unlikely to convert to FTE, but an extension is possible after the initial 1 year period.
Please prioritize candidates with experience in running packaging transit tests, analyzing data using statistical methods (Excel), and writing reports on the results.
Job Description
- Working as part of a cross functional team, you deliver the RDQ activities required to complete Packaging Design and Packaging Deployment for PPA, Productivity and/or Growth projects across multiple geographies with an emphasis on delivering the desired consumer experience.
How you will contribute
- With the support and guidance of a manager, you will organize and execute projects in line with RDQ, marketing and manufacturing requirements, effectively communicating status and risks.
- You will plan and conduct activities to generate appropriate packaging information, using sampling and supplier management, and pilot plant and factory trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice and HACCP requirements.
- In this role, you will plan and conduct process development activities (e.g. packaging design and specifications, packaging scale up, commissioning etc.).
- You will also regularly create technical reports, which will require your skills in analysis and interpretation of results that will lead to conclusions and recommendations; create and maintain accurate packaging specifications.

More about this role
- What you need to know about this position: Due to the anticipated testing demands and access to packaging-related labs, this position will be primarily based on-site at the East Hanover office, with occasional work from home days.
Education / Certifications:
- BS/MS Packaging Science, iOPP CPP or CPIT preferred
Travel requirements:
- up to 20% travel
Job specific requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in CPG packaging, preference in food packaging.
