Location: AOC - onsite everyday - M-F normal business hours 

Job Description:

  • As our Flavor Lab Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in our flavor development and applications process.
  • You will support our team by preparing samples, conducting sensory evaluations, maintaining cleanliness of the lab, and coordinating with other departments to meet project timelines.
  • The selected candidate must have a keen sensory acuity, attention to detail, and the ability to conduct precise and accurate work within the laboratory setting while being agile and inclusive in a team environment.

 

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sample Preparation: Prepare and compound flavor samples for applications in various food and beverage products based on assigned projects.
  • Sensory Evaluations: Set up sensory evaluations to help validate flavor samples and standardize our flavor inventory.
  • Lab Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lab, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols. Properly manage and dispose of chemicals and materials according to safety guidelines.
  • Documentation: Accurately document procedures and experimental results, maintaining stringent record-keeping practices.
  • Quality Control: Assist with quality control tasks, such as verifying raw materials, ensuring consistent flavor production, and conducting routine maintenance checks on lab equipment.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with different departments to meet deadlines and support new product development efforts.

 

Job qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Associate degree in Food Science, Chemistry or similar relevant field****.
  • Previous experience working in a lab environment, preferably within the food and beverage industry.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety protocols in the lab.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to handle changing priorities and projects.
  • Interest in food and beverage trends, new products, and sensory science is a plus.
