What are the top 3-5 skills, experience or education required for this position:

  • Cell culture 2D a must, 3D would be a plus

Purpose:

  • The primary functions of this position are conducting laboratory experiments and analysis in support of molecular toxicology studies.

Key responsibilities:

  • The candidate must be able to multi-task and collaborate successfully across other groups within R&D to identify optimal screening assays for early detection of toxicity liabilities
  • Support Preclinical Safety Toxicologists and Pathologists with key in vitro platforms for investigating molecular mechanisms of toxicity and enabling optimal selection of drug candidates.
  • Develop/characterize 2D/3D in vitro platforms, focused on toxicology.
  • Conduct routine in vitro screening assays for early drug candidates.
  • Produce/coordinate/present key data as needed.
  • Analyze and interpret relevant molecular toxicology data in a timely manner and communicate data and interpretation to project stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in cell/molecular biology, Molecular toxicology/Pharmacology, biochemistry, or a related field with 1-5+ yrs experience
  • Experience in basic cell culture and cell biology endpoints. Knowledge of spheroid/organoid culture is a plus.
  • Functional understanding of fluorescence and luminescence assays and related plate readers
  • Practical knowledge of in vitro assay development and troubleshooting, ability to work in a rapid pace environment
  • Good analytical skills and knowledge in data analysis, interpretation, report writing, and communication (both written and oral)
  • Knowledge of traditional scientific, statistical, and graphing software
