Must-Have Skills
- Background in Mechanical Engineering: A degree in Mechanical Engineering is a fundamental requirement for this role, as it provides the necessary foundation in design principles, mechanics, and materials science.
- Experience with Consumer Electronics: Familiarity with consumer electronics is essential, as it demonstrates an understanding of the industry's specific challenges, trends, and requirements.
- Proficiency with Siemens NX for 3D Modeling and 2D Drafting: Proficiency with Siemens NX is a critical skill, as it enables the creation of detailed designs, models, and prototypes

- Experience Working with Battery Design: Experience with battery design is highly desirable, as it indicates a deeper understanding of the complex interactions between batteries, devices, and users.
- Good Understanding of Assembly and Testing: Knowledge of assembly and testing processes is valuable, as it allows for the development of designs that are manufacturable, reliable, and meet quality standards

- The Battery Engineering team at Client is a crucial part of the Hardware Engineering organization, responsible for developing custom battery solutions for client devices.
- This team works on cell, system, mechanical, and validation testing to enhance battery performance.
- The mission of the Battery team is to develop rechargeable Li-ion batteries and advance battery technologies to power the next computing platforms through ideation, design, engineering, validation, and integration into products
Job Responsibilities
- Support product designs in Siemens NX environment for 3D modeling and 2D drafting
- Review battery requirements with product engineering teams to find the best options for product volume, weight, and run time.
- Support product prototyping, assembly, and testing.
- Create statistical tolerance, functional dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing analyses.
Minimum Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of mechanical engineering and product design experience
- Proficient with Siemens NX for 3D modeling and 2D drafting
- Experience with PCB / flex design
- Good understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, and GD&T
- Fluent in written and spoken English
