Description

Open to candidate early in career/ (academic lab experience accepted)

  • Free parking – walk or shuttle to site
  • Possibility of extension
  • Manager will consider candidates willing to relocate at their own expense.
  • Possibility of OT/ weekends, however rare
  • Team of 8 individuals working together
  • Please note this role works directly with Work with Animal products & Eggs products, noted in case of chickens or egg allergy
  • MS and PHD degrees will be considered overqualified

 

Must have:

  • MS Office Suite
  • Min of 1-3 years of experience (max experience 3 years, over this would be considered over qualified)
  • Must have lab experience displayed on resume

 

Nice Have:

  • Running hemagglutination testing, SDS-PAGE chromatography, and PCR
  • Experience working with viruses is a plus

 

Description: 

  • Industrial Operations at Client's Swiftwater, Pennsylvania site, the largest vaccine manufacturing facility in the US, continues to develop its manufacturing assets to produce existing and new vaccines and biopharmaceuticals.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Execution of small scale experiments, working with eggs and flu virus.
  • Support and assist production of high growing flu virus reassortants, flu reference antigen, and antisera.
  • Running hemagglutination testing, SDS-PAGE, chromatography, and PCR.
  • Ordering and maintaining supplies and materials and shipping materials as needed.
  • Working with outside vendors as needed.
  • Shipping biological samples for sequencing.
  • Writing internal development protocols and reports related to project.
  • Sample management between labs, manufacturing buildings, and analytical sciences department.

Education and experience

Basic qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; science/biology field preferred.
  • 1+ years of laboratory experience (academic lab experience accepted)
  • Experience working with viruses is a plus
