Description

Shifts:

12 hour shifts; 1st: 5AM-5:30PM; Monday-Friday.

Flexibility to cover second shift as needed; 2nd shift is: Sunday-Thursday; 5PM-5:30AM.

Training will take place on first shift

Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance Plant Monitor/Truck Sampler-De-linter

  • This position is responsible for assisting the Quality Control group to conduct plant monitoring testing on cottonseed for quality standards in raw and processed forms.

Key emphasis will be placed on performing quality checks which may include but not limited to:

  • Truck Sampling, Sample De-Linting, Acid Percentage, Dryer Temperature, Buffer Temperature, Bushel Weights, pH, Cleanout Percentages, Seed Count, Tare Analysis, Seed Appearance, Bag Analysis, Calibration of Scales, and Down Time Coding.
  • Perform inspections on packaged finished product to verify standards are met.
  • Assist with variety cleanouts. Enter data on Plant Monitoring Spreadsheet.
  • Report any deviations of quality parameters.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tests for extended time periods following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI).
  • Ability to work near/with other workers on daily basis.
  • Responsible for maintaining clean work area.
  • Follow safe work practices.
  • Majority of testing requires standing and walking for periods of time in an industrial and warehouse setting.
  • Contact with industrial equipment such as Delinter, Dryer, Buffer, Cleaner, Gravity Tables, Seed Tanks, Shakers, Conveyors, Baggers, Scales, Palletizer, Wrapper, Forklifts, Trucks, and Loading Ramp.
  • Utilization of lab equipment to include: Temperature Probe, pH Meter, Beakers, Distilled Water, Buffers, Scales, Bushel Weight Apparatus, and Seed Counter.
  • Individuals will work primarily in an industrial/warehouse and or lab environment.
  • PPE (safety glasses, coveralls, gloves, safety boots, and hardhat) is required and provided.
