- Biochemistry background will be ideal fit
- Experience in Construct design, trouble shooting and process optimization (Desirable)
- Unicorn (from Cytiva) is used for protein purification
- Not interested in protein expression but looking for more protein purification experience
- AKTA FPLC system exp (Must have)
- Construct design (All the antigens, requirements for antibodies, other biologics discovery)
- Protein purification exp needed
- Some one who has done a lot of structure work will be overqualified
- BS & 3-5 years of relevant experience; MS & 2+ years of relevant experience or a recent PhD.
- PhD will work
- Position is involved in R&D
- Focus on protein purification
- Develop protocols to purify proteins using AC, IEX, and SEC chromatography.
- Some background in structure of proteins and construct design will be needed
- Experience with high throughput purification a plus.
- Experience in expression construct design and structural work
- Construct design (Designing final protein) (Protein construct design not Primer for PCR)
- SDS page exp
- Process optimization based on literature and commercially available sources
- Protein petrification

We are seeking a highly motivated purification scientist to be a part of the Protein Sciences group (Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine department) who will contribute to Biologics research projects.
- This scientist will work independently as well as part of teams to purify proteins in support of drug discovery.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate scientific excellence, a strong work ethic, and dedication to team/project goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop protocols to purify proteins using AC, IEX, and SEC chromatography.
- Work with AKTA FPLC systems to purify proteins.
- Maintain a high level of productivity in the lab.
- Effectively coordinate with colleagues and research teams.
- Contribute to experimental design and process optimization.
- Read and apply relevant scientific literature to improving protocols.
- Effectively communicate research progress through oral presentations and written documentation.
- Keep accurate, detailed, and timely records of laboratory work.
Qualifications Required:
- BS & 3-5 years of relevant experience; MS & 2+ years of relevant experience or a recent PhD.
- Strong laboratory skills, effective documentation skills and the ability to present data clearly are necessary.
- Candidates should have experience in purification of proteins from E. coli, insect, and human cell culture systems.
- Experience with high throughput purification a plus.
- Experience with protein analysis: SDS-PAGE, western blot, and analytic SEC.
- Experience in expression construct design and structural work is beneficial.
- Experience in research and development of protein therapeutics is a plus.
