POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a advanced bioinformatics support for the analysis and visualization of mass spec proteomics data generated from tissues and plasma.
- The contractor will apply proteomics related knowledge with bioinformatics skills to help curate and register high dimensional proteomics data into internal data registry.
- The deliverable include data processing, analysis, and generating web-based interactive database accessible to client colleagues (both coder and non-coder) for early target feasibility assessments.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify the optimal methodology of processing mass spec proteomics datasets based on sound filtration criteria using scientific judgements. Document the analysis workflow for manuscript publication, to enable data injection, metadata capture, versioning control and curation.
- Register the datasets into internal database. Transform and engineer datasets so they are ready for downstream analysis.
- Develop a web application with interactive visualization to meet end-users’ query criteria.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Mostly with hiring manager and reporting managers.
- Communication with wet lab scientists who are the data generators.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- PhD, or MS with 2 year experience, or BS with 5 year experience, has degree in Bioinformatics, Biology, Molecular Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related fields.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in scripting languages like R/Python is a must.
- Experience with mass spectrometry based proteomics data type.
- Experience with graphic user interface development.
- Knowledge of relational or graph database is prefered.
- Wet-lab experience in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Analytical Chemistry or related field is desired.
- Familiarity with shell scripting, cluster or cloud computing infrastructure (AWS, GCP) is desirable.
Hard Skills:
- Experience in scripting languages like R/Python is a must.
- Experience with mass spectrometry based proteomics data type.
- Experience with graphic user interface development.
