Description

Duties

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design, manufacture, and assemble prototypes of soft wearable electronic devices
  • Apply sound engineering and design principles for manufacturing of novel sensor integrations in wearable electronics
  • Communicate with vendors on DFM and Manufacturing of designs for prototype builds
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to rapidly prototype hardware solutions, iterate, and run experiments.

Skills


Must Haves:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • 4+ years of experience in designing hardware prototypes, preferably in wearable consumer electronics, or a similar field
  • Knowledge of the design process for high-volume consumer products from concept to manufacturing
  • Average or higher experience with CAD modeling [Siemens NX preferred]
  • Physical prototyping experience
  • Experience with FPC/PCB design
  • Demonstrated experience with Design for injection molding and 3D printing

Nice to Haves:

  • Knowledge of Camera integration, Sensor Integration, Elastomer design, Haptic devices, or Textile Manufacturing.
  • Experience developing wearable consumer electronics
  • Hands-on prototyping with molding and casting of elastomers or industrial processes such as Liquid Injection Molding.
  • Experience collaborating and communicating effectively on multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Years of Experience:4yrs Minimum

Degrees/Certifications Required:    BSME or similar experience

Key Projects/Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Design and prototyping of wrist wearable devices
