Location: Northeast (Hybrid) – Preferably based in MISO states: IL, IA, IN, MN, MO, AR, LA

Reports to: Director of Business Development

About Company

We invest in clean energy infrastructure, driving the transition from fossil fuels to renewables through competitive transmission and related projects.

Purpose of the Role

Grow company's transmission presence in the MISO region by:

  • Identifying and developing new projects.

  • Building partnerships and leading competitive bids.

  • Working with regulators and stakeholders to shape favorable policies.

  • Supporting company's long-term U.S. transmission strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and prioritize new transmission investment opportunities.

  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships with utilities, regulators, and other stakeholders.

  • Lead competitive bid strategy and submissions.

  • Influence RTO and state-level planning processes to benefit company.

  • Track market/competitor trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Prepare high-level materials for executives and boards.

  • Manage and develop analysts; set clear goals and foster collaboration.

Qualifications & Preferred Background

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA/MA) preferred.

  • Experience: 7–10 years in energy/infrastructure; strong preference for transmission, but utility-scale renewables or generation also relevant.

  • Prior exposure to large capital projects in the power/utility sector.

  • Ideally a mix of technical (engineering) and business development/commercial experience (consulting background also valuable).

  • Knowledge of MISO, FERC, state regulators, and incumbent utilities highly desirable.

  • Experience with contracts, regulatory filings, and financial/valuation models a plus.

  • Executive-level communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Leadership potential — may not need prior people management, but should be ready to step up (experience leading cross-functional teams a plus).

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Based in the MISO region with strong local stakeholder relationships.

  • Inclusive, collaborative, and safety-focused.

  • Innovative thinker, data-driven, and strategic.

  • Strong communicator with executive presence.

  • Self-starter eager to grow into larger leadership responsibilities.
