Scientist I

Onsite Lake County

Start Date: January, 5th 

  • We are seeking an BS/MS scientist with strong experience of cell/molecular biology to join our ongoing cross-functional effort of understanding the biology behind the regulation and degradation of the therapeutic protein Botulinum toxin.
  • In this position within the Protein Degradation Platform Team, you will play a key role in driving our effort to understand protein interaction partners of the neurotoxin, as well as driving novel engineering effort to achieve next-generation therapeutic toxin.

 

Responsibilities

  • Broad molecular biology techniques such as PCR, plasmid cloning, Western Bloting, Protein purification.
  • Mammalian cell culture (stable cell lines, iPSCs and primary culture) and transfection (plasmid and lentivirus)
  • Communicate scientific findings as verbal presentations and written reports.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to facilitate execution on projects within established timelines.

 

Qualifications

  • B.Sc/M.Sc. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or a related discipline
  • At least 2 years of molecular/cell biology experience in an academic or industrial research laboratory setting
  • At least 2 years of tissue culture experience
  • Strong attention to detail in maintaining experiment
  • Passion for research and learning new techniques
  • Enthusiasm for collaboration and open science and team-oriented mindset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
