Scientist II

Onsite – Worcester, MA

6 months.

What are the top 3-5 skills, experience or education required for this position:

  • Immunohistochemistry experience acquired at pharmaceutical, CRO or biotechnology company
  • Working knowledge of performing IHS and in situ hybridization (ISH) on the Leica Bond Rx.
  • BS in Science/Chemistry/related
  • Team-oriented

We are seeking an individual who will perform routine single plex and multiplex immunohistochemistry in drug discovery programs.

  • The successful candidate will work in a group providing research support in target validation, target distribution, animal model development, pharmacology, and exploratory safety studies.
  • Being detailed oriented is critical to this role.
  • Specific activities will include immunohistochemistry performed on the Leica Bond Rx platform therefore, familiarity with this technology is important.
  • Exposure to multiplex using the Lumiphores COMET platform will be available.
  • Additional tasks include using computer-based laboratory tracking system (Sample Manager), Dream Path, interaction with study pathologists and project teams as well as inclusion in a highly dynamic, motivated team of immunohistochemistry scientists and histotechnologists.
  • The candidate must be comfortable working independently after a thorough period of training and onboarding as well as the ability to prioritize workload to manage several tasks. Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S./B.A. in Biology/Chemistry or related field
  • Microsoft office skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Qualification in IHC (QIHC) preferred but not required
  • Working knowledge of the Leica Bond Rx IHC platform
  • Ability to troubleshoot IHC
  • Ideally 3-5 years of experience within a histology/ pathology laboratory
