Electrical Engineer

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Summary:

• Design, develop, test or supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, conduit, panel components, or systems.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Engineering degree or 3-5 years' experience required.

Skills and Competencies:

• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Team player and detail oriented.
• Ability to make electrical schematics, engineering drawings and common computations.
• Ability to perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction and installation standards and specifications.
• Ability to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
• Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering field.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and test the manufacture of electrical equipment, including machinery controls, wiring, conduits, cabling, and electrical panels.
• Evaluate the cost Review effectiveness, reliability and safety of certain electrical designs.
• Evaluate continuous improvements in design and manufacture.
• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for electrical panels, conduit, wire harnesses, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software.
• Knowledge in wire termination process’
• Simulate and test machine/structure/system operation.
• Investigate and test vendors’ and competitors’ products.
