Food Service Associate On-site / Local FEHQ Cafe -2 Contractors needed Standard Responsibilities 1. Proactively supports leadership and coworkers, following well-defined practices and procedures 2. Continuously demonstrates commitment to all of FirstEnergy's core values and behaviors through daily work tasks and project assignments; Proactively embraces a safe work environment and supports a workplace of respect, appreciation, and acceptance for everyone 3. Intermediate understanding and application of Food Service fundamentals, including sanitation, procurement, product rotation, customer service, knife skills, and hygiene 4. Line cooking responsibilities in a fast-paced environment; including set-up, preparing foods to order specifications and thorough end of shift cleaning to include equipment and operational areas and safe food storage. 5. Preparing and setting up salad bar station including food prep, inventory ordering/management and cleaning. 6. Catering responsibilities for both internal and to-go, including cold food prep, packing, delivering, breaking down, courier coordinating, occasional planning 7. Frequently demonstrates a sense of urgency for reaching goals and meeting deadlines. 8. Manages multiple daily tasks and medium projects simultaneously 9. Sound decision making by developing alternatives and recommendations for customers, project deliverables, and to improve work processes. Standard Qualifications 1. Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience. 2. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word preferred. 3. Demonstrate a questioning attitude to learn, produce results, and develop relationships. 4. Demonstrate growth in use of research techniques such as recipe research and development, and basic industry trends. 5. Desire to continue to learn and grow, work across FirstEnergy, and deliver results. 6. Display problem solving and decision-making abilities. 7. Able to work as part of a team. 8. High school diploma or GED required. 9. Must be able to physically perform tasks involving bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds, and walking and standing for extended periods of time. 10. Manager level ServSafe Certified or become certified within six months of hiring. 11. Understand best practices and techniques for addressing internal and external stakeholder concerns. 12. Time management skills. 13. Effective written and verbal communication skills 14. Deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines
