Description
Responsibilities:
- A janitor is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of a designated area, including any number of buildings and the surrounding area.
- A janitor should be in moderate physical health and able to stay on his feet for hours each day, as well as climb, bend and move heavy equipment. .
- Cleaning Janitorial responsibilities include basic cleaning: sweeping, mopping or vacuuming floors, dusting, polishing furniture and cleaning glass. They may also be required to clean laboratory equipment.
- Supplies A janitor is also responsible for keeping bathrooms clean and well stocked, as well as informing a supervisor when more supplies are needed.
- Equipment Operation A janitor may be required to operate heavy-duty equipment like carpet shampooers, steam cleaners and power tools.
