Sr Procurement Specialist-Procurement Sourcing Specialist/Analyst 

 

Main Purpose Of Role

The primary function of this role is to support the strategic procurement team by leading various Procurement project initiatives which require data analyst, supplier communication, cross functional collaboration, negotiation, and project management abilities.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Leads and manages multiple supply chain projects simultaneously to include corporate programs involving supplier risk mitigation and resilience.
  • Analyze supplier quotes, bids, RFQs, RFPs and recommend best total cost options.
  • Source and evaluate mechanical and electrical vendors for medical device components
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and vendor onboarding
  • Manage procurement requests, purchase orders, and vendor communications
  • Track and report on project milestones, procurement timelines, and cost savings
  • Support tariff mitigation strategies and identify opportunities for second sourcing
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure supplier compliance
  • Maintain accurate records of sourcing decisions, contracts, and supplier performance
  • Ensure alignment with medical device industry standards and internal quality systems
  • Identifies, develops, and gathers necessary resources to complete all project phases: scope, charter, execution, escalation requests, post implementation, and closure.
  • Works cross-functionally to perform risk analyses and develop mitigation strategies to improve the supply chain and ensure successful project completion.
  • Directs project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
  • Provides support and direction to project staff on problem solving, visualization of data, and development of metrics (KPIs).
  • Communicates project status by preparing standard status reports, and by participating in departmental and customer project status update meetings.
  • Resolves project issues by working with team members, project stakeholders, customers, and others as appropriate.
  • Has the ability to break down complex projects or issues and present them in a digestible format, to all levels of the organization.
  • Interfaces with senior management on significant matters, often requiring the coordination of activity across organizational units.
  • Exercises judgment independently. 
  • Establishes priorities of individual or project assignments.
  • Perform other supply chain project related work and other duties as assigned by manager

 

Education And Experience You’ll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, supply chain, finance operations management, business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of experience as an engineer, technical project manager, procurement, supply chain, finance, preferably in the medical device business or other highly regulated industry.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstration of strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering, procurement, supply chain and other project-related activities, including their interfaces and interdependencies.
  • Strong commitment to safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience processing data and visualization of data.
  • Must be able to work without direct supervision to accomplish goals and meet schedules.
  • Proven solid work ethic and ability to work well with others as well as independently.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Possess strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be open-minded and adaptive to change, promote the collective interests of the team more than self-interest, able to resolve problems in a respectful manner.

Preferred

  • Masters’ degree preferred
  • Experience in medical device manufacturing or supply chain preferred
  • Prior Procurement and/or analyst experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, supply chain, finance, operations management, business administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Education:

  • Open to associates degrees and/or different certifications, related to medical devices, manufacturing and/or supply chain management. 

 

 Experience:

  • 2 to 3 years of Experience - will not go below 2
  • Person will be collecting data to survey supply chain/need- This role has aspects of Data Analytics as well as Procurement.
  • Will be interacting with suppliers in the collection of data and analyzing data through mapping process; this is all a manual process
  • Must be Communications savvy as they will be taking complex information and simplifying it as they communicate with suppliers, team, etc.
  • Medical Device experience preferred and can be in other regulated industries
  • Must be able to have a level of Excel that is Intermediate to Advance. If a person has never worked with Excel or has a very basic working knowledge they will not work out.
  • Internships can cover for some years of experience
