Locations: Windsor Mill, MD (primary) + Bethesda, MD (weekly) - Needs reliable transportation to travel between sites

Systems Engineer – Control Room IT Support (On-Site, MD)

Role Summary

This role supports mission-critical control room IT systems for electric transmission and distribution operations. The engineer will handle Windows workstations, server hardware, and datacenter infrastructure while interfacing directly with control room operators and technical leadership. Reliability, communication, and change discipline matter as much as technical skill.

Must-Have Skills

Windows 10/11 desktop & workstation support (imaging, troubleshooting, OS support)
Server hardware support (HPE / Dell enterprise hardware)
Strong communication skills – must confidently support control room environments
TCP/IP & Windows networking fundamentals
ITSM / ticketing experience (ServiceNow, JIRA)
Change Management exposure (formal, documented environments)
Reliable transportation (weekly multi-site travel required)
2+ years IT support experience in medium to large enterprise environments

HPE OneView, Dell OpenManage
VMware, NetApp storage
Cisco MDS
PowerShell / PowerCLI
Domain administration
NERC CIP exposure (highly attractive but not required for junior profiles)
Leadership or escalation experience
