The Preclinical In Vivo Pharmacology group is seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist to support the expansion, optimization, and application of our in vivo platforms, with a particular focus on humanized systems, including human stem cell engrafted mouse models.
In this role, you will design and execute studies to characterize emerging in vivo models and evaluate the efficacy and mechanisms of novel small- and large-molecule therapeutics. Responsibilites will include aseptic handling of immunocompromised animals, dosing, tissue collection, and ex vivo analyses such as flow cytometry and MSD immunoassays. You will analyze, interpret, and communicate your high-quality data to advance program decision-making and contribute meaningfully to our therapeutic portfolio.

What You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:
- Expand critical capabilities by designing and executing comprehensive in vivo model-development studies
- Support the portfolio by planning and conducting pharmacology studies to evaluate mechanisms of action and therapeutic efficacy for pipeline molecules
- Perform specialized research using human cell-engrafted immunocompromised mice, including aseptic execution of cell preparation and in vivo techniques
- Profile models and drug performance through tissue collection and ex vivo assays, including flow cytometry and multiplex immunoassays
- Generate high quality data packages with well documented methods, analyses, and interpretations for project team presentations
- Enhance operational efficiency and scientific impact by collaborating with partner line colleagues, including modelers and statisticians, and across in vivo teams, including neuro- and lung- inflammation-focused groups
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
- A Bachelor's Degree with =3 years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree with =1 year of relevant experience
- Foundational knowledge of immunology, autoimmunity, and pharmacology
- Experience in in vivo preclinical research, ideally in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment
- Proficiency with in vivo techniques, including intraperitoneal, oral, and intravenous dosing; submandibular bleeds; aseptic handling of immunocompromised mice; and tissue collection
- Hands-on experience with tissue processing for and execution of molecular biology techniques, including flow cytometry, multiplex immunoassays, and RT-PCR
- Proficiency with data analysis and documentation tools like Excel, GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, PowerPoint, and Signals Electronic Lab Notebook
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to follow established protocols, develop new methods and troubleshoot independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills; and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
- Experience with cell culture and human primary cell handling
- Familiarity with animal models of neuroinflammation and/or lung inflammation, including relevant techniques such as intracerebroventricular injection/implantation and/or intratracheal dosing
- Skills in tissue sectioning, histology, and immunostaining

- May require weekend work
- Requires the use of a respirator or PAPR in the animal facility

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $68,600.00 to $110,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
