Description

Client  Soybean Product Development Team is looking for an Agricultural Trial Assistant Trial Agronomist based out of Fowler, IN.

  • The Agricultural Assistant Trial Agronomist will be a key member of the Soybean Product Development Team in the Eastern Corn Belt.
  • This role will involve assisting the team with planting, evaluating, and harvesting soybean for the purpose of research and development.

  • This job will involve conducting field trials throughout the Eastern Corn Belt for the purpose of evaluating soybeans lines and generating meaningful data.

 

Tasks Include:

  • Oversee and implement various field trials and demonstrations of soybeans across the Eastern Corn Belt (Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky).
  • In-season plot maintenance, data collection including soil and plant samples.
  • Maintain all equipment and facilities in accordance with applicable SOPs in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
  • Operate and maintain a wide range of specialized plot farm equipment including but not limited to combines, tractors, sprayers, tillage, planting equipment, and UTVs.
  • Operate and maintain a company vehicle.
  • Follow all safety programs, maintain training, and compliance.

 

What You Bring:

  • Recent work experience within an agricultural/outdoor environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under low supervision.
  • Being reliable, safety conscious, with clear and collaborative communication skills
  • Able to lift 35 pounds.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate or willing to learn operate specialized small plot machinery.
  • PC literate. Some knowledge preferred of Microsoft office and email.
  • Work requirement is 40hr/week during the growing season, with overtime during harvest and planting season.
