Description
Position: Bench Scientist I
Location: 100% onsite at Cambridge, MA
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform routine lab assays with established protocols.
- Conduct 100% bench work and report data into the lab’s tracking system.
- Work closely with senior scientists for program-related assays.
- Escalate issues or deviations—candidate does not need to troubleshoot independently, but must communicate effectively.
Required & Preferred Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s in Life Sciences required (biology, biochemistry, protein science preferred).
- Master’s not preferred due to bill rate limitations.
Experience
- 0–1 year (entry level).
- Academic research experience is acceptable; industry experience is a plus but not required.
Key Skills
- Micro pipetting (top skill)
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Analytical mindset
- Basic understanding of HPLC, chromatography, or handling large-molecule biologics preferred.

ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to join the Molecular Assessment and Profiling group. This role contributes to the selection of high-quality biotherapeutics candidates by generating characterization data using a suite of established biophysical and analytical methods.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Learn and perform physicochemical, thermal, and colloidal stability assessment of biotherapeutic candidates using a suite of established assays.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to support selection of lead biotherapeutic molecules.
- Contribute to improvement activities aimed at increasing efficiency and throughput within the group.
- Accurately document experimental procedures, results, and analyses in electronic notebook
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with at least one year relevant experience in biochemistry, or a related field
- Proficient in micropipetting and a solid foundation of general laboratory scientific practices
- Knowledgeable with various analytical techniques such as DSC, DLS, aSEC, iCE and cGE
- Strong attention to details (analytical-minded) with the ability to multitask efficiently.
- Ability to learn new techniques rapidly and follow established protocols with precision.
- Ability to perform tasks under close supervision with frequent review of results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with automation is a plus
