Role: Construction Superintendent (MEP – Boiler Systems)

Location: Washington, DC (Centre City)
Duration: 1-Year Contract (projects may extend 1–4 years)
Work Type: 100% Onsite | Night Shift Required

Position Overview

We are seeking a senior-level MEP Construction Superintendent (10+ years experience required) to lead boiler plant (natural gas) installations across 5 occupied federal buildings.

This role is highly field-driven and requires hands-on leadership managing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) construction activities in active environments.

Project Scope

  • Decoupling buildings from existing steam systems

  • Installing new natural gas-fired boiler plants

  • Work across 5 federal buildings in Washington, DC

  • Projects range from 1 to 4 years in duration

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee onsite MEP construction activities

  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and field crews

  • Ensure compliance with project plans, safety standards, and timelines

  • Execute work in occupied/active buildings with minimal disruption

  • Monitor progress and provide clear daily/weekly reports

  • Collaborate with:

    • 1 Principal Project Manager

    • 4 Senior Project Managers

  • Utilize tools such as laptops/iPads for reporting and tracking

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as an MEP Construction Superintendent (MANDATORY)

  • Strong expertise in boiler systems, central plants, or natural gas systems

  • Proven experience managing field operations and subcontractors onsite

  • Experience working in occupied/live environments (federal, hospital, or similar)

  • Ability to work independently and take full site ownership

  • Proficient in basic reporting (Microsoft Word & Excel)

Security Requirements (MANDATORY)

  • Must be eligible for HSPD-12 badge (GSA clearance)

  • Active clearance (HSPD-12 / Secret / Top Secret) is a strong plus

Work Schedule

  • Typical Shift: 7:00 PM – 2:00/3:00 AM

  • May require continuous night shifts (2–3 months rotation)

  • Standard: 4 x 10-hour shifts/week

  • Overtime paid (time and a half)

  • Weekend work may be required

Education

  • High School Diploma required

  • Trade school / engineering background preferred
