Energy Program Manager - Remote - EST/PST

Overview

Energy Program Manager responsible for the timely delivery of utility infrastructure required to interconnect data centers to the grid. This role combines program management, transmission expertise, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory understanding to support large-scale energy infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage interconnection agreements and coordinate with utilities.
  • Support transmission planning and perform/interpret grid studies.
  • Oversee construction of large-scale substations and network upgrades.
  • Negotiate supply agreements with utilities and external partners.
  • Navigate Right-of-Way (ROW) processes, permitting, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, construction, legal, and finance.
  • Drive process improvements for cost efficiency and timely delivery.
  • Lead communication between utility partners, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets and dashboards for tracking and reporting.
  • Analyze data to support decision-making and program performance.
  • Stay updated on energy markets, regulatory policies, and industry trends.
  • Brainstorm and implement innovative solutions to improve program outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with interconnection processes and transmission systems.
  • Strong understanding of high-voltage transmission and substations.
  • Experience managing large-scale, multi-year infrastructure projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with energy markets and regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with utility supply agreements and contract negotiations.
  • Experience working on network upgrades and grid modernization.
  • PMP or equivalent certification.
