Open to location - MA, Upstate or Downstate NY. Must live within the Client territory.

Hybridr ole  traveling to office on occasion for trainings, stageholder meetings, etc.

Role Overview

This is a strategic procurement role (not P2P) focused on category management and strategic sourcing.

You will partner with the Category Manager to develop and execute sourcing strategies, support business units, and drive value across the supply chain.

This role sits at the center of  company's major investment and Net Zero transformation, making procurement a key driver of long-term success.

Key Responsibilities

• Support category strategy development and execution for assigned spend areas
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver procurement solutions
• Lead strategic sourcing activities (market analysis → supplier engagement → negotiation → award)
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal business units
• Analyze supply markets, identify risks/opportunities, and provide insights
• Support contract execution and drive continuous improvement & cost/value optimization
• Mentor junior buyers and promote best-in-class procurement practices

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• Strong background in strategic sourcing & category management (not transactional/P2P)
• Experience developing or supporting category strategies
• Proven ability to lead negotiations and supplier discussions
• Experience with market analysis, supplier evaluation, and commercial modeling
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills

Nice to Have

• Experience in utilities, energy, or large infrastructure environments
• Exposure to complex supply chains or large-scale transformation programs

Work Setup

• Hybrid role (occasional office visits for meetings/training)
• Must be located within client's service territory (MA / NY)
