Category Management/Process Support

Engagement Length: 9 months

Location: Mettawa, IL (Onsite)

Manager's Update 

• Developing standard contractual processes to exchange data between organizations.
• Working with external vendors to calculate and collect volume discounts and rebates.
• Helping with some of the foundation-level data entry and systems reporting for the category managers.
• Working with businesses to identify procurement systems and data workflows
• Working on specific projects to exchange data, collaborate with external vendors
• Working with contracts, category expertise, and marketing expenses
• Understanding and drafting amendments to contracts based on identified improvements.
• looking for someone who ideally has experience in Marketing spend, creative agencies, campaign development, media spend, commercial data, and analytics
• Work with commercial data, have some marketing data
• Procurement experience is most important
• Marketing and data experience is a nice-to-have
• don't want someone with only a creative or tactical background.
• need proven vendor management and communication skills
• Seeking someone with a bit more strategic person than a typical analyst
• open to looking at an analyst if they have unique experience.
• A sourcing manager would likely have good experience
• services and professional engagements
• comfortable working with vendor data
• This is not a Data QC or Validation role
• more about the application of that data to the category
• A master's or bachelor's degree candidate will work
• Looking for experience actually creating net-new contracts.The 
• Category Manager role is more involved than a Contract Manager in this context
• Ensure the right metadata is captured and manage the business elements like rebates and data transfer protocols.
• Experince with Power BI
• Working with Sievo for spend reporting
• Working with Ariba for sourcing and contracts is used
• Experience with service contracts, buying material, and data validation is preferred

Overview

• We are seeking an experienced contractor to support category management, procurement processes, and data operations across Marketing and Data Partnerships.
• This role requires strong analytical ability, vendor management support experience, and familiarity with procurement systems and data workflows.

 

Potential Responsibilities

• Document consistent, high-level frameworks for improved category innovations under guidance from category leader
• Manage vendor rebate/reconciliation and savings calculations
• Oversee intake and tracking of zero dollar data usage agreements between Marketing or Data partners
• Support savings tracking administration, data validation, and reporting within a finance system
• Develop and maintain operational playbooks; support media operations for inhouse agency initiatives
• Review Market Research scopes and identify incremental value opportunities
• Assist with standing up simple contracts with digital media vendors
• Improve data quality and systems workflows for in house scope management tool
• Other strategic or operational projects as assigned

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in category management or procurement operations
• Strong analytical and data validation skills
• Prior exposure to marketing/data vendors or industries preferred
• Experience with procurement systems (e.g., Provalido, Agency Mania, or similar)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross functionally

 

Education:

• Bachelors Degree Business administration, Business Analytics, Finance, Operatorts
