Job Description:        

The Inventory Planning Coordinator role provides hands-on execution support for demand and supply planning activities across assigned customers, products, or programs. This role focuses on day-to-day planning tasks, data maintenance, and coordination to support planners and enable reliable forecast and supply outcomes. The position emphasizes execution, reliable follow-through, and close coordination with planners, Sales, Supplier Management, and Operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end demand and supply planning execution activities for assigned customers, products, or programs under direction of planners.
  • Maintain and update demand forecasts using historical data, business inputs, and defined planning assumptions.
  • Reconcile basic supply vs. demand issues and flag constraints, shortages, and capacity risks to the assigned planner or lead.
  • Execute planning cadence activities: schedule updates, forecast uploads, supply reconciliation, and basic performance tracking.
  • Prepare routine planning reports and trackers (forecast vs. actual, OTD, inventory status) for planner review.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Supplier Management, Product Line, and Operations to gather inputs and resolve transactional planning issues.
  • Support planning reviews by preparing summary materials, visualizations, and highlighting key risks or variances.
  • Perform root-cause data checks and basic analysis to identify anomalies in demand or supply data.

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • 1–3 years of experience in demand planning, supply planning, inventory management, or related supply chain operations (entry-level to early career).
  • Hands-on experience executing planning tasks for one or more programs/customers.
  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic VBA or macros preferred).
  • Familiarity with planning systems such as SAP, Blue Yonder, SPM, or equivalent (data entry/upload experience).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate data and trackers.
  • Basic analytical skills to identify trends and variances; comfort working with datasets.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
  • Ability to follow established processes and escalate risks appropriately.
  • Comfortable working under direction and managing routine priorities.
  • Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Experience supporting planners or planning teams in an execution role.
  • Exposure to forecasting methods and planning assumptions.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau) or interest in building reporting skills.
  • Prior experience with inventory reconciliations or supply performance tracking.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and willing to learn and take on increasing responsibility.
