Description
Workplace Accommodations & EEO Compliance Specialist
- Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid – 2 Days Onsite Weekly)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
- Occasional travel within NJ/NY locations may be required
We are seeking an experienced HR Compliance professional with strong expertise in Workplace Accommodations, ADA compliance, and EEO/Affirmative Action support. This role will primarily focus on managing employee accommodation requests while supporting compliance reporting, HR analytics, and regulatory initiatives across NY and NJ operations.
Key Responsibilities
Workplace Accommodations (Primary Focus)
- Manage employee accommodation requests related to ADA, PWFA, FMLA, religious accommodations, and related employment laws
- Lead the interactive accommodation process from intake through resolution
- Partner with HR, managers, legal teams, and employees to identify reasonable accommodations
- Draft accommodation-related communications and maintain accurate/confidential documentation
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers regarding workplace accommodations and compliance requirements
- Monitor ongoing accommodation cases and ensure timely follow-up and closure
- Identify trends and recommend process improvements
EEO / Compliance Support
- Support EEO and Affirmative Action compliance initiatives
- Assist with EEO-1, VETS reporting, and audit preparation activities
- Work with external vendors on compliance-related reporting and data submissions
- Provide compliance guidance to recruiters and HR teams related to hiring practices
- Support OFCCP and workplace compliance initiatives
Reporting & Analytics
- Generate ad hoc workforce and compliance reports
- Analyze labor market, diversity, and turnover metrics
- Scrub and manage large datasets across multiple HR systems
- Maintain compliance and accommodation tracking databases
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Workplace Accommodations, ADA compliance, HR Compliance, or Employee Relations
- Strong knowledge of:
- ADA
- PWFA
- FMLA
- EEOC guidelines
- NY/NJ employment laws
- Experience managing the accommodation interactive process
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally
Technical Skills
- SAP / SAP SuccessFactors
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, reporting)
- SharePoint experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EEO, OFCCP, and Affirmative Action reporting
- Experience supporting audits and compliance initiatives
- HR, Employee Relations, Compliance, or People Analytics background preferred
