Description
Rangam is seeking candidates for a Direct Hire role as a Associate Scientist with our client Pfizer, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. Seeking candidates in Andover, MA or willing to relocate.
The qualified candidate will join the Analytical R&D organization in Andover, MA, to enable development of biological therapeutics. Within Analytical R&D the candidate will join the Characterization and Analytical Sciences – Andover Group focused on monoclonal antibodies/fusion proteins/synthetic peptides and other biological modalities. This group develops analytical methodologies and strategies needed to progress biotherapeutic products in the pipeline; this includes method development, process support, formulation and stability support, product characterization and method qualification.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for performing HPLC/ UPLC, SDS-PAGE, iCE, and CE and applying these methods to a broad range of biotherapeutics for early and late stage products.· The candidate must be able to interact effectively with multi-disciplinary project teams.
- The candidate is expected to tabulate data, provide data interpretation to their teams and to their customers.
- Revise/review/author test methods and technical reports
QUALIFICATIONS
- The candidate should have a minimum of a B.S degree in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, chemistry, or related discipline, and 0-2 years of experience working with biological molecules using an array of analytical methodologies.
- The ideal candidate will have knowledge in protein biochemistry and analytical chemistry, and experience using some or all of the following techniques: all modes of HPLC/ UPLC, SDS-PAGE, iCE, CE, and/or peptide mapping for analysis of biologicals including proteins, antibodies, peptides, and conjugates.
- Industrial experience and an understanding of the drug development process are desired. GMP/GLP knowledge is desired.
- Non-technical attributes required include verbal and written communication skills, cooperation and teamwork skills, and self-awareness.
- Position requires occasional light lifting and periods of standing, sitting or walking, ability to perform mathematical calculations and ability to perform complex data analysis.
- Occasional work-related travel may be needed.

Work Location Assignment: On Premise

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $60,200.00 to $100,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
