Job Summary
- Client has an exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Quality Engineer (PPAP Specialist) responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all activities related to Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions for new products, engineering changes, and supplier components.
- This role ensures that all customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements are met before parts move into production.
Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):
- Lead and manage PPAP submissions for internally manufactured and supplier-provided components.
- Develop, review, and maintain PPAP documentation including Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA studies, capability analyses, and dimensional reports.
- Ensure suppliers provide complete and accurate PPAP packages; coach suppliers on gaps and improvement needs.
- Participate in customer meetings and support audits related to PPAP and APQP deliverables.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to identify critical characteristics and quality standards.
- Coordinate measurement activities and verify first-article inspection results.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Supplier Quality to resolve nonconformities.
- Employ Quality Management System assets as assigned (NCM, CAR, Process audits, PFMEA, Control Plan, calibration, etc.)
- Use problem-solving tools (8D, fishbone, 5 Whys) to address issues identified during PPAP validation.

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology experience and at least 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Essential Knowledge or Skills:
- Experience with PPAP (all levels), APQP, and core quality tools.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and measurement systems.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, molding, stamping, or assembly.
- Familiarity with electrical components such as wiring harnesses, sensors, VFDs, control boxes, etc.
- Proficiency in data analysis, capability studies, and MSA.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Knowledge of MS Office tools.
