Senior Scientist. 

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in relavent field or 5 years of analytical analysis experience preferred in order to undertake a range of investigative analyses.
  • LC, GC and GCMS techniques, utilizing software packages and provide interpretation of the results. 
  • Working as part of a project team, you will be responsible for setting up new SPME GC equipment, establishing validated analytical methods on site and building the capability to perform untargeted flavor analysis on a variety of matrices.
  • Experimental work will include to result interpretation, writing recommendations and disseminating reports. 
  • With the support and guidance of a manager, you will develop and execute projects, effectively communicating their statuses and highlighting risks and issues.
  • You will plan and lead bench-top experimental work plans and trials in accordance with good manufacturing practice. 

Senior Scientist – Flavor Analytical SG9

  • Responsible for delivering key flavour analytical measurements to support the Client business, focussed on the area of Biscuit and Baked snacks.
  • The incumbent will be responsible for setting up new SPME GC equipment, establishing validated analytical methods on site and building the capability to perform untargeted flavor analysis on a variety of matrices.
  • They will need to collaborate internally in the area of flavor research and analytical methodology for Client with colleagues at other sites and be comfortable liaising with external partners and equipment providers.
  • Install new analytical SPME equipment with support from colleagues
  • Set up and run in-house methods to conduct flavor analysis on a variety of matrices to assist the direction of the flavor research programs and provide technical insights through flavor analysis
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with instrument providers
  • Collaborate in cross functional teams with internal and external partners to drive projects
  • Support the flavor research and category teams with analytical measurements to test hypotheses and propose next steps in research projects.

Accountability:

  • Undertake a range of investigative analyses. LC, GC and GCMS techniques, utilizing software packages and provide interpretation of the results.
  • Perform various analytical techniques to isolate and concentrate flavour from food products and identify and quantify the potent aroma compounds.
  • Perform QA data checking and provide interpretation of data.
  • Act in compliance with all relevant lab policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment, assist with laboratory housekeeping and the maintenance of quality systems.
  • 5-Communicate significant of the results to technical and non-technical audience to assist with the decision-making process.
  • Work in an organized manner within tight deadlines to ensure that analysis is completed within expected time scales.
