Job Summary

  • The Calibration Coordinator 2 is a critical member of Client's Quality Assurance team, responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of equipment used across the Diagnostics, Surgical, and Breast and Skeletal Health Divisions.
  • This role manages all aspects of calibration and preventive maintenance, including proactive early warning notices for equipment nearing calibration due dates, maintaining equipment data in the calibration system, labeling equipment, coordinating calibration activities with suppliers, initiating investigations for out-of-tolerance equipment, and providing training to system users.
  • By maintaining a compliant and efficient equipment control system, this position supports Client’s commitment to quality, operational excellence, and regulatory standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below-mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.

Equipment Calibration and Preventive Maintenance:

  • Review completed calibration certificates for electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure equipment was received in Tolerance and meets all specifications.
  • Track calibration and PM schedules using Agile inquiries and weekly equipment status reports, identifying equipment nearing calibration due dates.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external calibration service suppliers to coordinate timely calibration and preventive maintenance activities. (on-site and/or at calibration Supplier
  • Do not allow equipment to go overdue for Calibration and /or PM.
  • Leverage proactive early warning reports, escalation to leaders and removal of equipment from a given area if necessary to prevent it’s use prior to it going overdue.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of data in the equipment control system.
  • Provide early warning reports on equipment coming due for calibration and/or PM.
  • Monitor all workflow statutes to ensure the timely movement of records and so the system reflects the correct status of the equipment.

Training and Support:

  • Train and support equipment owners/system users to ensure proper use of the equipment control system and adherence to work instructions.
  • Provide guidance on calibration procedures and documentation requirements.

Equipment Lifecycle Management:

  • Approve and oversee new equipment additions to the system, ensuring proper structure of related records and accurate labeling.
  • Evaluate and approve extension requests, coordinate re-labeling activities, and facilitate the decommissioning of equipment, ensuring all tasks are closed and equipment is quarantined or removed as needed.

Investigations and Service Request:

  • Initiate and process field service requests electronically and in a timely manner.
  • Initiate out-of-tolerance (OOT) equipment records and proactively monitor the records to ensure timely closure.

Field Service Equipment Management:

  • Plan, drive orders and build and configure equipment and fixture kits to sustain an adequate pool of equipment to support all users.
  • Proactively Ship equipment to Field Service Engineers ~ 45 days prior to their equipment coming due to ensure calibrated equipment is always being used.

Qualifications Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certificate or degree with a focus on electrical engineering or related fields preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience coordinating equipment control activities, preferably in the medical device industry or with an electrical background.
  • Previous experience coordinating calibration activities for electrical equipment is essential.
  • Familiarity with Oracle and Agile systems preferred but not required.

  • Flexible and adaptable to evolving business needs and regulatory requirements.
