Possible extension
The primary responsibility of the ME is to design and deliver 4 desktop T2VP validation platforms — fixtures, adaptor plates, and the full mechanical platform — fabricated, assembled, tested, calibrated, packaged, and deployed to validation-team customers, ready for use.
Must-Have Skills
- Hardware/optomechanical fixture and platform design experience.
- Build / test / calibration experience with precision mechanical assemblies.
- Comfortable with hands-on assembly, procurement logistics, and on-site XFN support.
- Hands-on DFM experience working with US and APAC contract manufacturers.
Nice-to-have Skills
- Experience with Meta CAD and PLM tools.
- Experience with thermal design, vibration analysis, dust-, and humidity mitigation
- Experience releasing fabrication-drawing using PLM systems.
The ME will be responsible for the following:
- CAD design of fixtures and adaptor plates using client-approved mechanical CAD tools.
- Full-platform CAD design — model the entire T2VP assembly in CAD, integrating STEP files provided by instrument vendors.
- Fabrication support for all custom mechanical parts
- Fab drawing release — produce and release fabrication drawings with appropriate GD&T and tolerancing.
- DFM reviews — conduct Design-for-Manufacturability reviews and iterate with US and/or APAC manufacturers.
- Build, test, and calibrate the platforms.
- Procurement — purchase Pelican cases (and associated packaging/consumables) for platform transport.
- Packaging & shipping of the completed platforms to customer sites.
- On-site assembly support at validation-team customer locations.
