Onsite preferred but will consider remote for most qualified candidate.
Possibility of temp to hire.
Must Have
- Strong knowledge of US employment-based immigration and ability to identify potential uses of the available visas to support business units.
- Knowledge of government affairs, legal landscape, and policy-making principles
- Detail oriented with a strong focus on quality control; able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines
- Must handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and maturity
- Strong interpersonal, written/verbal communication and presentation abilities
- Must exercise sound judgment when reviewing requests for exceptions to policy
- Must use tact when interacting with associates, managers, and Human Resources colleagues to understand and resolve potentially sensitive issues
- Proficiency in Microsoft office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint • Strong team player
Job Description:
- The Immigration Program Manager is responsible for leading the company’s immigration program, internal client consulting and support for foreign nationals across the business.
- The Immigration Program Manager provides innovative Immigration solutions and clear advice as the internal day-to-day contact for all US Immigration matters.
- Works independently as a Sr. Subject Matter Expert to internal stakeholders and is pivotal in navigating a changing immigration landscape.
- Works closely across the organization to ensure compliance on immigration related matters.
- Provides high level immigration information and education to employees, HR and managers.
- Leads immigration projects.
- The Immigration Program Manager partners with Immigration counsel to ensure a high-quality experience.
Job Duties:
- Manage the domestic immigration program by ensuring the Company’s immigration policy is administered consistently across all business units and act as the Sr. Subject Matter Expert and primary point of contact
- Work closely with immigration counsel to oversee timely and accurate processing of employment-based immigration filings, including sponsorship of H-1B, F-1, TN, O-1, L-1 and E-3 visas; permanent resident processing; and responses to USCIS requests for evidence.
- Partner with Immigration counsel to ensure immigration renewals/extensions are processed in a timely fashion and avoid work authorization gaps.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and liaise with external immigration counsel to create a cohesive and inclusive immigration strategy in order to ensure compliance.
- Counsel employees, provide guidance, communicate status, coordinate with attorney and business support, and ensure timely follow-up communication.
- Present business leaders and HR personnel with immigration regulation updates and information.
- Continually monitor the immigration process to identify opportunities for growth and improvement to ensure the program delivers an outstanding customer service experience to internal stakeholders and customers
- Analyze root causes of escalation and design process improvements.
- Collaborate with legal counsel, HR teams, and business leadership to design a foreign national program that is aligned with the Company’s strategic objectives and compliant with US regulations.
- Lead the transformation of the company’s Immigration practice by harmonizing the policies and procedures across entities and establishing a seamless, efficient and consistent administration of the Immigration Program, achieve compliance goals, and support Immigration needs for the company’s talent.
- Design U.S. domestic immigration processes, execute decisions and ensure meaningful and clear communications of policies and procedures to all stakeholders.
- Provide strategic consultation on immigration matters as a trusted advisor, coach and partner with all levels of stakeholders and the business.
- Develop successful and trusting relationships with business and stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver training related to immigration program and procedures.
- Collaborate at all levels with internal stakeholders to execute dependencies related to Immigration (e.g. Payroll, Employment Law, I-9/People Compliance)
- Assess external/legislative changes in the US immigration landscape and analyze impact on immigration processes
- Communicate with Department of Homeland Security related to FDNS audit requests and requests for evidence in a timely and highly professional manner.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 5+ years of work experience in Legal or HR. Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of solid immigration experience.
- Experience should include US immigration experience handling large volumes of immigrant and non-immigrant matters including H1B, L1, TN, O1, and the LPR (Green Card) processes including PERM Labor Certification process.
